Thousands of pets each year are injured while in a car, and pet owners should take some time to thoroughly pet-proof their vehicles.
Pets aren’t safe in the front seat or in the bed of a pickup truck. If you’ve got the room, a dedicated area for a pet carrier is your best option for keeping your pet safely contained. You can also install a gate or place a waterproof liner on a seat to create a pets-only area. You can also car-train your pets with short journeys lasting only a few minutes to prepare them for a longer trip.
